Overview

If your auction ends with offers below your reserve price, you are not required to accept them — the choice is yours. However, these offers don’t stay open forever.

Offer window

  • Standard window: Below-reserve offers are valid for 24 hours.

  • Extensions: You may request an extension, but it is not guaranteed.

Why only 24 hours?

Dealers purchase cars every single day, often from multiple sources (auctions, trade-ins, wholesale channels). A dealer bidding on your car may find a similar vehicle elsewhere. For this reason, Bidbus can only guarantee that your below-reserve offers remain valid for 24 hours. After that, the chance of the dealer honoring the same price drops significantly.

Example

If your reserve is set at $25,000 but the highest bid is $24,700, you have 24 hours to decide whether to accept. If you wait longer, the dealer may no longer be able to commit, as they could have already purchased another car.

💡 Seller Tip:
If your highest bid is close to your reserve, act quickly. Dealers buy cars every day, and similar vehicles may be sold elsewhere. The faster you respond, the higher the chance your offer will still be honored.

In short

Below-reserve offers are valid for 24 hours only. You can ask for more time, but the longer you wait, the less likely the dealer can hold their bid.
