Overview
Dealers evaluate cars differently than private buyers. On Bidbus, your car’s value is determined by the factors that impact how quickly and profitably a dealer can resell it.
What matters most
Year, make, and model – Some vehicles hold value better than others.
Mileage – Lower mileage usually increases value.
Condition – Structural integrity, mechanical health, and tire condition matter far more than a quick wash.
Accident and service history – A clean history report adds trust and resale value.
Market demand – If dealers need your type of vehicle right now, they will bid more aggressively.
What doesn’t make a big difference
Cleaning or detailing – A polished car may look nice, but dealers value mechanical condition over appearance.
Extended warranties – Dealers rarely add value for this, since they have their own coverage programs.
Aftermarket modifications – On sedans, mods usually lower value because dealers prefer stock condition. On trucks and SUVs, certain tasteful mods (e.g., lift kits, off-road tires) can sometimes help — but not always.
In short
Your car’s value is based on objective factors dealers care about — mileage, history, demand, and condition. Things like a fresh car wash, extended warranties, or most aftermarket mods usually won’t change what dealers are willing to pay.
